Your Personal Harmony Harmony in musical terms is a pleasing combination of chords. To create harmony, we play a structured progression of chords. Harmonic music creates a feeling of well-being, peace and calm. Our bodies respond favorably to harmonic music, because we are connected to the Harmony of Spirit.Did you know that the word "Chord" dates back to the Greek language where it also meant "gut". This reflects the usage of sheep intestines for the strings used for the harps of their time. The correlation is relevant. String instruments resonate in our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chakras. This is the area consists of our heart, solar plexus and guts. The corresponding note to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th chakras are D, E and F, respectively. I find this easy to remember, DEF or the opposite - FED. Harmony feed us! Our body's and spirit's response to life is a mirror of music itself: Pleasing harmony to mind, body and spirit is a structured progression of emotions, in the same manner of the chords in a harmonic change. Where is dis-chord in your life? What is required to bring this matter into harmony as you desire? How will you feel once this goal is reached? Begin living your personal harmony...start an unfinished task; stop a bad habit; start a good one or complete the never-ending project date/time specific. This is the path to personal harmony. Like sweet, harmonious music, these are the progressions to a harmonious life - simple and sweet. Meaningful Meditation When we meditate, we connect with Spirit, as well as ourselves. I am discovering that the forms of meditation and the purpose for meditation is as varied as human-kind. For me personally, meditation did not come easily. (Unless you consider blatant day-dreaming!) I would try to silence the mind, and immediately thoughts would run, scrape and blast throughout my brain. "Oh no, I forgot to pay the phone bill!" "I think I'm almost out of tomatoes-better stop at the store", "What time is that meeting tomorrow?", "Maybe I should turn down the lights so I can focus more", "This is nuts, I need to get to the gym!" "Why don't you shut up?" "Why don't YOU shut-up!!It took some time before I was able to just relax, and release for even three little minutes. Initially, I felt that something was wrong with me. Did I have ADD? Later, I met many wonderful people who shared their personal struggles with silencing the mind. I learned that resting the mind can be as challenging as climbing Mt. Fuji, it takes time, practice and focus. One day, I came across a music cd featuring singing crystal bowls. I had never heard of this instrument, but I immediately connected with their hauntingly, beautiful resonating vibrations and sounds. On my quest to find out more about the bowls, I came across a beautiful 18th Century Tibetan bowl. Although different in sound, I began to play the bowl and discovered how quickly I was able to relax and center myself. It was such a joyous moment, I continued on my quest to find the Quartz Crystal Bowls. From one bowl, I ended up with a collection. I observed how friends and clients became immediately relaxed and fluid when I played the bowls. One thing led to another, and the next thing I knew, I had many bowls. Clients began requesting and referring sound healing sessions and I began to play for larger crowds which led to full meditation and healing concerts. It is remarkable to watch how tranquil people become in response to hearing the bowls. I wanted to share the bowls with the world, and in answer to my desires, Spirit manifested many people and processes for me to do just that. Anussati: Crystal Journey to the Temple is my first cd. Originally, I was going to call my cd "Flow". After my first day in the studio, I returned home to prepare for a client and came across (or better,Spirit guided me to) information about The Anussatis - a Buddhist meditation. I learned that Anussati is a set of 6 or 10 specific Buddhist meditations. After studying about each of the meditations, I realized that some of my songs and their titles were very much in line with the Anussatis. While continuing with my research, it was clear the direction I needed to go in, and thus Anussati:Crystal Journey to the Temple was born. The cd is my humble offering to Spirit and to you. Whether you have mastered meditation or like I was, just can't learning to shut down the mental chatter, I hope that you find enjoyment in the music, as much as I did in playing it for you. -Lava |
